CINEC 2006 has been a success. Many visitors to our stand, all VERY interested in the new CockpitCUBE product.
The software was being demoed both on a supercharged 17” ALIENWARE laptop (Pentium IV CPU, 2 Gigs of RAM), and on an super portable 13” ASUS laptop with Centrino CPU and 512 MB or RAM.
The product was not 100%, it still needs some tuning, but we managed to show a dual camera rec/playback on the same computer, and a live mix.
This last feature we gather it’s a world first, and it raised quite some eyebrows. Our promise to get the product on the market very early in 2007 at a full price below 2000 € also raised a lot of interest – and many subscriptions to our newsletter, so as to learn in realtime when the CUBE will be available.
Quite a few other videoassist digital systems where presented at the show, but the always somehow limited performance of those boxes (all showing proprietary custommade hardware), and price levels starting way above 10.000 €uros, we believe decree from now on the existence of two leagues: the trendy, good-looking, hardware+software ever-too-expensive average-performing objects, and software only solutions - where CockpitCUBE leads now the way with a very high-end product that lets you choose the hardware that fits you best while you pay only for the features you really need.
