Introducing a new generation of digital video assist tools: Codename Cockpit3.

Introducing a new generation of digital tools aimed at aiding professionals of the film industry – throughout the entire production process – to perform better and more efficiently: THE COCKPIT_SYSTEM. The Cockpit_System will be a suite of software, aimed at improving control over all stages of the production pipeline.
VideoAssisTech. will present in September at CINEC tradeshow in Munich (Germany) the first of those software tools, which should interest the video assist community since it represents the next generation in digital video assist: Cockpit3
2 years ago VideoAssisTech introduced the first all-in-one digital video assist and VFX pre-visualization system (Cockpit2) with still unmatched RT&L (real-time and live) capability.
The new product, codename Cockpit3, makes the best of the Cockpit2 experience, and besides all the must-have tools, in its basic version it also incorporates some basic pre-visualization features , made available with the usual, unmatched flexibility our customers have come to expect (although Cockpit2 will remain our leading product for what concerns VFX previsualization and Motion Control support).
The true innovation lies in it being a full software product, made to run on any laptop PC or MacBook Pro (Window XP Pro SP2), with a VERY interesting entry-level price.
Some of the ground breaking innovations in Cockpit3 are:
- DV and HDV capable.
- Multi camera (up to 8) on the same system.
- Resolution independent.
- Real time/live (RT&L) composites: 3 layers per camera.
Cockpit3 is a modular and highly scalable software framework which allows for future implementations and expansions.
Indicatively, scheduled plug-ins of Cockpit3 are: RT&L chroma/luma key, 2D/3D DVE, colour correction, waveform/vectorscope monitor, and more.
Furthermore, some functionalities of Cockpit3 are designed to integrate it in the broader Cockpit_System suite:
Remote Web browsing.
Password-protected access to all sensitive material.
Highly secure and fast database management via SQL Server.
Expect the software and all its upgrade modules to be sold separately, in order to allow each professional to buy only and exactly what he needs, when he needs it.
Minimum system requirements may vary depending on software configuration.
VideoAssisTech is now selecting the members of the Board of Customer Advisors (BOCA) who will be cooperating with VideoAssisTech in debugging the Cockpit3 product and making it fully operational.
