When it comes to creating a video product, be it a short film, a feature film, a commercial or a music video, we have deep knowledge of the pre-production, production and postproduction processes, with a digital focus. We offer counselling and supervision in advanced video assist and VFX pre-visualization, but also in the setup and maintenance of a wide range of installations and specific equipment.

Pre-production competences

· Extensive technical knowledge in the defining of the production and postproduction pipeline, with special regard to the new digital acquisition formats (from DV to DALSA), the new postproduction methods (from Avid to Digital Intermediate), the best delivery formats (from videotape to film).

· Extensive technical know-how for the setup of digital HD shootings (choice of equipment, lenses, accessories, etc)


Production competences

· Advanced operative knowledge of digital High Definition filming (camera control and monitor tuning)

· Advanced operative knowledge of on-set VFX pre-visualization, with special regard to blue/greenback and motion control shoots.

· Advanced skills in the setup, alignment and maintenance of monitors and studio/film cameras.

· Advanced operative knowledge in video playback, audio/video installations, digital projections, etc


Postproduction competences

· Technical designing, cabling and maintenance of audio/video operating rooms (editing, telecine suites, RVM, machine room, TV studios); Digital Cinema, quality control, color grading and audio suites;

· Setup and video/IT maintenance of Irix workstations (Inferno, Flame, SmokeDI, Backdraft, etc), Linux workstations (daVinci, Sledgehammer, etc), Windows workstations (Lustre, IQ, Avid, XSI, Maya, etc), MAC workstations (Final Cut, Avid, Combustion, Protools, etc).

· Setup and maintenance of Telecine (Cintel CReality, Spirit, Cintel MKIII, ITK Millenium, Sony Vialta) including those machinery that normally are found in the Telecine suite (DaVinci, Pogle, Digital Vision, AAton, Evertz, Tektronix).

· Programming and maintenance of audio/video routers.

· Setup and maintenance of professional VTRs, DAT, Intercom systems.

· Operating competences for what concerns digital video software products from Autodesk (ex Discrete Logic), Apple, ProTools, Quantel.

· Advanced operative skills concerning professional tools such as waveform/vectroscope monitors, TBC, Routers, noise reducers, timecode generators, key code readers, etc)

· Advanced operative skills concerning video equipment such as: tape recorders (DV, HDV, DVCPRO25/50/100, BetaSP, DigitalBetacam, D1, D2, HDCAM, HDCAM SR, D5, D6), monitors (grade 1), video projectors (DLP TI Cinema), professional analogue and digital cameras (Sony, Panasonic, Thomson) both in standard and high definition.

· Advanced operative skills on Smoke, Backdraft, Lustre, Sledgehammer, DaVinci 2K, Thomson Spirit, Sony Vialta, Sony Cinealta F900, Barco Post Production, Cintel URSA e C-Reality, Digital Vision, Tektronix, Ultimatte, DVS, MTI, Revival, film cleaner.

· Advanced operative skills in video/film editing (means and methods, EDL, time-code, conforming, On-line editing, etc)

· Advanced operative knowledge of the IT infrastructure of postproduction (interconnection of Hi speed networks, backup management, data running) including the design of postproduction asset management systems.

· Advanced operative skills in the tuning of the elements constituting the digital intermediate process, from the shootings to the editing to the film recording.

· Advanced “system administration” competences in Unix (Linux e Irix) environment, Windows environment and networks in general.
